Kristin C. A. Turton

Principal/Founder

As an Attorney-at-Law and Law Firm Principal, Kristin has been driven by a pure and unadulterated love of the law and a passion for ensuring that persons and businesses are appropriately protected and secure that to which they are entitled. With excellence as her north star, she methodically and zealously manages every case in pursuit of practical, client-centred outcomes.

Since being admitted to practice law in Barbados in 2009, she has represented clients’ interests successfully and without fear or favour in the Magistrate’s Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and the Caribbean Court of Justice. Her unique mix of experience in litigation, amicable negotiations, business development, employment and teaching has shaped the suite of legal services and solutions offered by the Firm.

Kristin is guided by the view that a true advocate must appreciate varied perspectives. Thus, she has broadened the scope of her understanding by being:

  • The Chairman of a Severance Payments Tribunal,
  • A Member and Vice President of the Council of the Barbados Bar Association,
  • A Tutor in the Faculty of Law at the University of the West Indies,
  • An International Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (England),
  • Arbitrator for the Barbados Olympic Association, and
  • A competitor in the sports of Weightlifting and Taekwondo for Barbados at the Central American and Caribbean Games and the Commonwealth Games.

Though law is often said to be a jealous mistress, Kristin still makes time to be a dedicated wife, boy-mom, daughter, sister, friend, national athlete, NBA fan, Assistant Instructor for Robust Taekwondo Academy, and even a moderator on the Voice of Barbados Call-in-Programme “Down to Brass Tacks”.
